The Fire in Our Bones

He feels strongly that he has been called to be God's prophet, but he doesn't like the consequences of this calling. He doesn't like the lack of popularity that he is experiencing. Many pastors these days hear the prophetic call to be faithful to Jesus and his obvious callings. But sometimes they pay the price for truth telling. As a result, some choose to back down from their prophetic calling, while others go ahead and experience what Jeremiah experienced--great disapproval. Truthfully, these are tough days for the prophets among us. But if they don't speak the truth, they know all about the fire that burns deep within their bones that won't let them remain quiet.
