We just don't have time for that
One of my favorite things that Richard Rohr says so often is, "We just don't have time for that."
I think of that often as I age. We don't have time for pettiness. We don't have time for grudges that keep people separated and stuck. We don't have time for racism, sexism, prejudice toward gay and lesbian people. We don't have time for small-mindedness. All of these things keep us stuck in the past and in what Rohr calls "dualistic (us vs. them) thinking." We are going some place. We don't have time for people who want us to stay stuck in the narrow confines of their minds.
