Too hard, too vulnerable

As I am preparing for our class on revenge, addiction, and forgiveness, I am confronting some material on why people hang on to the anger that feeds their need for revenge.

One of the primary reasons, according to the book "Design for Wholeness," is that anger enables people to cover up feelings of inadequacy. It is easier for some of us to remain angry rather than deal honestly with our inadequacy. To deal with our inadequacy would require taking a hard look at ourselves and our perception of ourselves. Too hard, too vulnerable. So we remain angry. "They" are the problem. Maybe not.
