Learning for Children

Children’s Faith Formation
Holy Moly (Kindergarten - 5th Grade)
9:15-10:15 during the school year
Our Faith Formation class is for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. Each Holy Moly lesson is divided into four equally important parts:
- Discover – Introduce kids to the Bible story characters and begin to discover the story by watching an animated Bible story video
- Relate – Discuss what surprised them, what makes them wonder, and how they feel about the story they just saw
- Connect – Open Bibles and explore the day’s story
- Create – Imagine and reflect on the Bible story through hands-on activities or games using their learner leaflet.
Baptism
Pour out your Holy Spirit, the power of your living Word, that those who are washed in the waters of baptism may be given new life. We welcome all who are willing to be washed in the waters of baptism. If you are interested in baptism for you or your children, please contact Pastor Bill.
First Communion
First Communion is a significant rite of passage during which a person first receives the Eucharist. Our church hosts a First Communion class which consists of two classes where we share the meaning of the Eucharist, the history, and our Lutheran traditions. Typically children in first and/or second grade are ready to participate in the class and receive First Communion. Please contact Pastor Bill or Paula Dusseljee with any questions
Bibles for Third Grade Children
Our congregation believes strongly in the promises we make in Baptism. One of the ways we do this is by providing the Word to our young people. Each fall, we provide Bibles to our third-grade youth during a Sunday worship service. We encourage kids to use these Bibles, especially for their Sunday school class and during Confirmation.
